JVS TIMBER — Truss LVL E14 H2S

Truss LVL E14 H2S

Truss LVL E14 H2S is a high-stiffness engineered timber made for fabricated timber trusses. Supplied by JVS Timber and manufactured to AS/NZS 4357, it pairs a stiff E14 stress grade with glueline H2S termite treatment, giving truss fabricators straight, consistent, predictable members for chords and webs. Trusses depend on accurate, uniform timber to perform as designed, and engineered LVL delivers exactly that — dependable straightness and stiffness, batch after batch. Whether you are fabricating roof or floor trusses or specifying truss-grade LVL, Truss LVL E14 H2S delivers the consistency and performance the job demands. ABOUT THIS PRODUCT

Stiff, Consistent LVL for Fabricated Trusses

Truss LVL E14 H2S is laminated veneer lumber made from many thin, pre-graded pine veneers bonded under factory conditions into straight, uniform members. Its high E14 stiffness and excellent straightness are exactly what trusses need: chords and webs that are true and consistent so the fabricated truss performs to its engineered design and assembles accurately. Because LVL’s structural properties vary far less than sawn timber, truss fabricators get reliable, predictable members every time. The 'H2S' designation means a glueline termite treatment is infused into the adhesive during manufacture, protecting the whole cross-section so cuts and drill holes need no re-treatment. H2S is for dry, interior, above-ground use south of the Tropic of Capricorn — the typical environment for roof and floor trusses within a building envelope.

Key Highlights

Why Choose Truss LVL E14 H2S

High Stiffness for Trusses

The stiff E14 grade gives truss chords and webs the stiffness they need to perform to the engineered design and carry load with limited deflection.

Exceptional Straightness

Engineered straightness is critical for accurate truss fabrication and assembly — LVL stays true where sawn timber can bow and twist.

Consistent, Predictable Members

Pre-graded veneers and dispersed defects give very uniform structural properties, so fabricators get reliable, predictable timber batch after batch.

Glueline H2S Protection

Termite protection through the glueline treats the whole section, so cut surfaces need no re-treatment during fabrication.

Long Lengths

Available in long, straight lengths, truss LVL suits the longer chord runs in roof and floor trusses.

Reliable Fabrication

Uniform, true members reduce fabrication issues and help deliver accurate, dependable trusses to site.

WORKING & FIXING

Working With Truss LVL E14 H2S

Truss LVL E14 H2S is fabricated into trusses according to the truss manufacturer’s and engineer’s design, using the specified connector plates, fasteners and jointing details. As an engineered structural member, member sizes, connections and any cutting must follow that design — trusses are not to be modified, cut or notched on site without engineering approval. Handle and store members and fabricated trusses flat and supported, protected from the weather, to keep them true. Erect, brace and fix trusses in accordance with the truss layout and bracing design and relevant standards. The E14 grade describes stiffness, but the truss design governs member sizes, spans and connections — always work to the design documentation.

TREATMENT & COMPLIANCE

Truss LVL E14 H2S Treatment & Compliance

The H2S glueline treatment infuses termiticide into the adhesive during manufacture, protecting the entire cross-section against termites and borers, with no need to re-treat cut surfaces during fabrication — convenient for the many cuts a truss involves. H2S is for dry, interior, above-ground use and may only be used south of the Tropic of Capricorn, which suits trusses within a building envelope. It is not for weather exposure; where trusses or members face the weather, or for areas north of the Tropic of Capricorn, a higher treatment level is required — talk to our team about the right product.

SPECIFYING & SIZING

Specifying and Sizing Truss LVL E14 H2S

Getting the most out of Truss LVL E14 H2S starts with specifying it correctly. The stress grade tells you the stiffness, and the treatment tells you where it can be used, but the actual member size for a given load and span comes from the manufacturer’s published span tables and design information — and, for primary structural members, from your project engineer or building designer. We can supply the exact sizes, grades, treatments and lengths called up on your plans or engineering documentation, so the simplest approach is to send us your schedule and let us match the product to it. Where it helps, we will also point you to the relevant span tables and technical literature. When you order, it pays to confirm the depth, thickness, grade, treatment and length of every member, plus the quantities, so the delivery arrives complete and ready to build with minimal waste. If you are weighing up grades or treatments — for example, whether a job calls for E10 or stiffer E14, or H2S versus an exterior H3 product — our team is happy to talk it through and help you specify the right member for the application, the location and the budget.
