Formwork LVL E12 H2S
Formwork LVL E12 H2S is a stiff, strong engineered timber built for the demands of concrete formwork. Supplied by JVS Timber and manufactured to AS/NZS 4357, it pairs a higher E12 stress grade with glueline H2S treatment, giving formworkers straight, consistent bearers and joists that carry the loads of wet concrete and stand up to repeated re-use. Where sawn timber bearers vary and distort, E12 LVL stays straight and predictable, supporting accurate, efficient formwork. Whether you are setting up suspended slab formwork, bearers and joists or formwork framing, Formwork LVL E12 H2S delivers stiffness, straightness and reliable performance. Stiff, Straight LVL Engineered for Formwork
Formwork LVL E12 H2S is laminated veneer lumber made from many thin, pre-graded pine veneers bonded under factory conditions into straight, uniform members. Its E12 stress grade gives it greater stiffness than standard E10 framing LVL — important for formwork, where bearers and joists must resist deflection under the weight of wet concrete to hold accurate slab levels and finishes. Its straightness and consistency make formwork faster to set out and more predictable to strip and re-use. The 'H2S' designation means a glueline termite treatment is infused into the adhesive during manufacture, protecting the whole cross-section so cuts and drill holes need no re-treatment. H2S is for dry, above-ground use south of the Tropic of Capricorn; formwork LVL should be protected, cleaned and stored well between pours to maximise its working life.

Why Choose Formwork LVL E12 H2S
Higher E12 Stiffness
The E12 stress grade gives Formwork LVL greater stiffness than standard framing LVL, helping bearers and joists resist deflection under the weight of wet concrete for accurate slab levels.
Straight and Consistent
Engineered straightness and uniform sizing make formwork faster and more accurate to set out, with predictable performance pour after pour.
Built for Re-Use
Strong, stable LVL stands up to the repeated handling, loading and stripping of formwork better than variable sawn timber, helping you get more cycles from each member.
Glueline H2S Protection
Termite protection through the glueline means the whole section is treated and cut surfaces need no re-treatment on site.
Long Lengths
Available in long, straight lengths, E12 LVL suits the longer bearer and joist runs common in formwork systems.
Predictable Engineering
Uniform, pre-graded veneers give consistent structural properties, so formwork members perform predictably to their design.

Working With Formwork LVL E12 H2S
Formwork LVL E12 H2S can be cut, drilled and fixed with standard timber tools and fasteners. Set out bearers and joists to the formwork design and the manufacturer’s data; the E12 grade describes stiffness, but the spacing and member size for a given load must follow the formwork design and a competent person or engineer. Support, brace and tie formwork in accordance with safe-work and design requirements. To get the most cycles from formwork LVL, protect it from damage, clean it down after each pour, avoid prolonged saturation and store it flat, supported and under cover between uses. Inspect members for damage before re-use and remove any that are compromised.

Formwork LVL E12 H2S Treatment & Compliance
The H2S glueline treatment infuses termiticide into the adhesive during manufacture, protecting the entire cross-section against termites and borers, with no need to re-treat cuts or drill holes on site. This through-section protection suits formwork members that are repeatedly cut and drilled. H2S is for dry, above-ground use and may only be used south of the Tropic of Capricorn; it is not a weatherproofing treatment, so formwork LVL should be protected from prolonged wetting and stored well between pours. For applications requiring exterior, above-ground weather exposure, an H3-treated product is required — talk to our team about the right option.

Getting the most out of Formwork LVL E12 H2S starts with specifying it correctly. The stress grade tells you the stiffness, and the treatment tells you where it can be used, but the actual member size for a given load and span comes from the manufacturer’s published span tables and design information — and, for primary structural members, from your project engineer or building designer. We can supply the exact sizes, grades, treatments and lengths called up on your plans or engineering documentation, so the simplest approach is to send us your schedule and let us match the product to it. Where it helps, we will also point you to the relevant span tables and technical literature. When you order, it pays to confirm the depth, thickness, grade, treatment and length of every member, plus the quantities, so the delivery arrives complete and ready to build with minimal waste. If you are weighing up grades or treatments — for example, whether a job calls for E10 or stiffer E14, or H2S versus an exterior H3 product — our team is happy to talk it through and help you specify the right member for the application, the location and the budget.

Formwork LVL E12 H2S — Frequently Asked Questions
Formwork bearers and joists must resist deflection under the weight of wet concrete to hold accurate slab levels, so the stiffer E12 grade is well suited to the job. Always design spacing and member sizes to the formwork design and manufacturer’s data.
Yes — strong, stable LVL stands up to repeated loading and stripping better than variable sawn timber. Protect it from damage and prolonged wetting, clean it after each pour, inspect before re-use and store it well to maximise the number of cycles.
No — the H2S glueline treatment protects the whole cross-section, so cuts and drill holes do not need re-treating on site.
No. H2S is for dry, above-ground use south of the Tropic of Capricorn and is not a weatherproofing treatment. Protect formwork LVL from prolonged saturation; for weather-exposed structural members, an H3 product is required.
Bearer and joist spacing and member sizes must follow the formwork design and the manufacturer’s data, confirmed by a competent person or engineer. The E12 grade describes stiffness, not the layout for a given load.
Yes. Tell us the member sizes, grade, treatment and quantities on your plans or engineering documentation, along with your delivery location, and the JVS Timber team will confirm current stock and competitive trade pricing with delivery Australia-wide.
Yes — a key advantage of LVL is that it is manufactured in long, straight, uniform lengths, which suits longer spans and runs and reduces joins. Tell us the lengths you need and we will confirm what is available. In short, Formwork LVL E12 H2S is engineered to make the relevant part of your build straighter, stronger and more predictable — our team is happy to help you confirm sizes, grade and treatment, point you to the right span tables, and quote current availability and trade pricing.
